More ariel sketches

I was organizing my documents, and I found some Ariel sketches I did in March, and May of this year. So I thought "why not to share them?" and so there are them. I guess it's a relief for me not to feel the need to write much about them, and also for you to not read it I think! *chuckles*
All I can say, it's that I just was drawing ariel for fun not for something in particular XD

In this first one page of sketches, I tried to parctice to draw her in different poses, from the sides, and also from the front (as you can see I'm not as skillful for front poses ans I do with the others XD) and from behind. And I think at the end I liked the two first sketchs, specially the one where you can see a bit of her back. Cos I think I finally could get a bit good of drawing people from behind, it's funny now to think I was atrocious for that like 10 years ago! XD

I drew this one in may, it was cos I was listening the song Harmony of the Little Mermaid series. That was why I felt inspired to draw ariel on a pose similar to the video, for that I watched the video as reference. I was practicing drawing this particular perspective. And believe it or not, this single sketch took me like 5 hours to do it right!

And you know why? It's cos I'm not used to draw perspectives other than parallel ones. So I must keep practicing, and I think if you guys who are reading this would like to be better in drawing (or in any other thing) you must practice it a lot too, cos having talent it's important, but practice it's what helps you to be exceptional the most! :D

Jean Jean Patou Nicolai - A bit of Story!

For the ones who still don't know, Jean it's Estelle's son, and both of them are french. Today I have some free time, I would like to share the sketches I've done so far for this, one the characters I've been working of to develop since the end of last year. Before he became the character you know now.

Jean Jean Patou and his partner in the TV documentary show "Traveling with Chip and Jean", they came out from other story, which main character was a kid who needed an hero, a role model, and since she loved animals and documentary shows, I thought of them. But it wasn't until I commented a friend of mine about that story, and about them, that the inspiration for developing them came to me like a powerful lighting, and I felt inspired to actually draw them!

Early Jean and Chip Sketches.
These are the very first sketches of both characters Jean (the one with the snorkel mask) and  his friend Chip. Chip isn't french but, well he was in the same page XD.
I did this on oct 21, 2013. Because I talked about them some days ago with a friend, and he said they were really cool characters. I still thank this friend of mine for listening to these characters concepts.
Cos in the past I kinda felt they probably weren't going to be very successful characters, so I just had them in my mind since a good time ago,  but I never really payed attention to actually draw them. Until I talked about them! Now I realize how amazing and warm characters they really are; People who like to see my art love them! :D

As you can see here, the characters weren't very well constructed still, it was a vague idea the one I had when I did this. Even I wouldn't have imagined that one day this was going to become the characters you see now. Here they were both in swimwear.

Oh Mon dieu! Jean's First good sketches!
This was the very first consistent artwork I did from him, and I remember I felt so happy and excited, and proud, like I haven't felt in a long long time! ^^
It was in part because I have created a new character in a long while, but I think it was mostly because I felt I kinda had "beaten" the problem I had with drawing male anatomy, cos I have been improved and my hard work has worth the effort, which it was amazing! :D

I think the sketch I was more pleased of, was precisely, the one where he says "Oh mon Dieu!". I just loved the expression there, it was so warm and full of amazement...it had all the emotion I wanted it to have! And I was happy cos that doesn't happen to me very often *chuckles*

This work was made also thanks to the encouragement of a very dear friend, yes, the same one who encouraged me to do them when I talked about them. This was what he saw when he saw the sketches:

"Its like looking at a stunning monument and being rendered speechless! You have created a true work of art that trancends simple beauty and conveys layers of emotion and depth that few people ever reach. Your soul and love and passion so pure looking at these drawings is like bathing in a warm light of eternal wisdom"

Jean's face practice.
Some sketches I made trying to draw a  formal Jean, I thought he probably would be in his prom. I was trying to practice drawing faces from the front side, because I'm not very good at this XD

Teen and Kid Jean.

I knew at some point I was going to make him be a kid, either to have flashbacks of memories of him being a kid, and also because I have developed him and his friend Chip very well that I had the idea  that maybe I could make a series for him as well. Since he and his friend Chip were secondary characters in another story of mine, but they were so great characters that I was excited to make them their own show.

So I did some sketch test with jean being a kid and a teen.  I wasn't totally pleased with the results, but well, I think these are a good start :)

Jean Patou Sheet reference

To the left:
Some random sketches I did for an intro "Sheet reference". I did this putting together some of the best sketches I had drawn of him from different times, also I drew other new ones.
The gray and brown ones are the old, the blue and purple are the new.

But at the end I didn't used all the sketches for  the character design sheet cos I thought some of them weren't that good for this piece in particular. The final of this sketches is HERE

This and the other sketch, are the most recent sketches I've done for this character.

Sidera l'aventuriere galactique

In these days I've been also working in a portrait of "Sidera", the alter ego of Lou's mom from "Lou" the comic and TV series. Because a friend of mine gave me a gift for my birthday, and then I had this idea of giving him a gift too.
And well, taking this chance, I would like to share a couple other sketch I did of the same theme.

Sidera l'aventuriere galactique

It's an idea I had last year actually, but I had no time or inspiration to do it last year, until now.

So here are the sketches of her I did.
These sketches were made the 22 and 24 of this June 2014. I just forgot to add the date to the pic this time. But luckily I have good memory :D

A curious fact, this is the first time I draw sidera, but it wasn't very difficult to draw her. I guess it's because it has always been easier for me to draw girls. And as I've heard for some fellow artists, it is easier for most of people, because woman's body have more curves in the anatomy than men's one, and we are more used to draw curves in the drawing.

Lou and her mom.

From a drawing I've already finished. I don't have WIPs of the more constructed sketch, but this was the first rough sketch, that was made in Nov 2012.

This was the very first time I drew Lou and her Mom. And it was when I investigated about the show and I realized the mom was called "emma". Althought I'm not sure if it was the original name or just the one they gave her in english.

At that time I was trying to paint with SAI, cos had no photoshop, but only the basic version of SAI. But even so, the drawing was nice and the people who use to see my artwork liked it. Also, at the end my photoshop worked, and that was why I was able to add a bit of texture in some parts to my final drawing.

Ariel small comic strip WIP

Hi there folks? :D How you're doing?

Today I was commenting on a blog, so I used my Google account for that, and I noticed that this one blog had nothing. And I said "wow! I almost remember I posted my first entry here some time ago" And I did it, but only that. Now I come to realize I haven't done any justice to this blog XD

Some time ago I made this blog, so you could see the art I do and I haven't posted on dA because it's mostly WIPs and rough doodles. Since I've heard  there's a few people on dA who liked my doodles and work in process, but I never have been  fan of filling my page with WIPs and sketches, so I had the idea of making a place proper to post this kind of stuff so you can get to see them too.
Cos I think art it's art no matter what, so doodles, lineart and WIPs deserve to be seen too. Of course, in part this idea comes because I always enjoy a lot to see the artists scrips and WIPs!  So I thought, if I enjoy this, I'm sure other people will too :D

So I needed a place to post my sketches and WIP's and all that stuff, but I wasn't sure of making a "thumrl" account, because I've heard that site has a reputation of being full of porn and not counting with filter for the ones who don't want to see porn. So I was kinda scared of "thumrl", so that's why I made this blog. And I think I'm going to conserve it :)

So, here in my first entry, I would like to share the WIP of a comic strip I'm making featuring Ariel and flounder.
I started to do this since early this month in June 10, and I haven't had the chance to finish it yet. Cos I have much work, also cos my computer it's sooooo slow!!! XD I'm very excited about this though, cos when I finish it, I'm sure people will love it! :D

For this I used various sketches I did on various times, and put them together, and I did a few others to complete the story.

At first I was going to leave the black lines of the original sketches, but you know, at the end I thought the painting was too nice for that and the sketchy lines kinda ruined the color XD So I decided I'm going to erase them.

One of my first french songs

It's just a song I made in french back in 2013, in Nov 22 to be more exact.
It talks about that kind of art most of people are unsure if to love or not cos it's too personal. And at it was a strong emotion the one I had about that. Now I think this song isn't as important (or impacting ) as it was the moment I made it, but still, it's something I did so I still like it.

L'art personelle

Ooooh l'art personelle.
Ooooh je ne le fais plus
Ooooh car tout ce qu'il m'a donné.
Ooooh c'est beaucoup de problemes.

Oooooh l'art personelle.
oooooh je le fais pas
oooooh et mes oeuvres d'art
oooooh sont parties en fumée

Tout le monde partout dans le monde.
Ils tous le méprise, l'écraser
oh Ce genre d'art

Il ne me remplit plus
Il n'est pas plus amusant
Il ne remplit pas mon âme
Il n'es pas plus plaisant

Oooooh l'art personelle.
oooooh je ne le fais plus
oooooh car tout ce qu'il m'a donné
oooooh c'est beaucoup de problemes.

Oooooh l'art personelle
oooooh je le fais pas
oooooh et mes oeuvres d'art
oooooh sont parties en fumée

Oooooh l'art personelle
oooooh je ne sais pas
oooooh pourquoi il est méprisable
oooooh pourquoi si c'est naturelle
